Green Bridge

This is the bridge spanning the Saco River nearest our house. As you can see by the tracks, in winter it provides not only pedestrian traffic but a way for snowmobiles to travel the bridge without attempting to traverse the roadway. It's safer and smoother, especially when the pavement is bare of snow like it was this recent morning. That groundhog said winter would be coming to an end soon. What's it waiting for? Enough already!

  2. I have never seen snowmobiles on a bridge; must be quite a sight. I like the contrasting colours in this photo.

  3. At least we've had a momentary respite from the bone-chilling cold...and icicles have let go from most of the roofs around here.

  5. Looks like that path is getting quite a bit of use. The hint of red at the end of the bridge is nice. And, of course, being a Spartan I'm partial to anything green & white!

  6. Ah, a truss bridge. WE have very few of those left here in Texas - at least for car traffic. When the weather gets nicer perhaps you can give us a picture from the side or down below. I'll be waiting!

  7. Snow--snowmobiles--what's that? It has been such a mild winter out here I just cannot relate.
Like the green bridge though. MB

  8. That is a nice picture and I can just imagine seeing a snowmobile going across. We are having some lovely weather here with sunny skies and highs in the 70's!

  14. Hey, you're just in the wrong part of the country. 74 here today and snow all gone. Nevertheless the green and white abstract design here is way cool.

  15. I like the bright green against the snow. From this angle, it looks good. I suspect from the side it is pretty utilitarian. You will have to show us in the spring.

    The trip was worth!
That you can act to make your journey smooth.
Because our lives, following the direction that we give to it."

    Bonjour dear Birdman,
