Off Ramp

A morning after a dusting of snow affords a look back from the bridge in the distance from yesterday. I've often have heard people say that in life the positive way is always keep looking forward; that looking back isn't always healthy. I guess I'm a believer in the adage... to know where you're going, you better have a 'healthy' dose of where you've been. How about you?
Don't look back?

  1. Are you kidding? If I don't look back.....I will lose all the wonderful memories I have, because that's where they are....back there.
Here's to fond memories of the past, memories we are creating today, and all the memories to come.

  2. Very interesting question, Birdman! I'm for balance: a little bit of both. Elenka's comments about memories is important, but living in the present is important, too. Remember: Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

  3. I also am a firm believer in being present in each moment. Even if the moment hurts.

  4. Works well in Nascar, too.Ever heard the expression, "Don't look back, they may be gaining on you?"

  5. I guess I do both. Seventeen years ago my first marriage ended and with it a lot of my life as I knew it ended as well. Early on all I seemed to be able to do was to look back with regret. Since then I have made a new life and a very happy one and look forward to what's next. There are good things about starting over.
